So, like, Ryland was a little bit excited. And by a little bit, she meant completely. It was her first wand, her first year at Hogwarts, and her first time ever stepping foot into Diagon Alley. She didn't even know the last thing existed until she got here! And now, after readng fairytale after fairytale about cool wizards who spread good and fun, she got an actual wand! Not a stick with a little leaf sprout on it! A legitimate wand!
She could barely sit still! Her hands kept clenching and unclenching into fists and her smile was about as wide as a Great White Shark, just not as menacing. Ryland wasn't actually sure if she could be menacing, but hopefully one day she would take over a random company like daddy, and then fire people while wearing bright pink dresses and having people paint her nails. At least that was what mom liked to hear every time she asked. But any mention of pink and she was good!
Crossing one leg over the other, she tried to sit like a young lady would, though there was some definite ritching around and fidgeting. She was eleven and had to wait her turn for the most important moment of her life? What did they expect from her? How was she supposed to do this? How did you keep composed when all of your thoughts turned into the words "oh my Gosh" nine million times over?
The bruentte admitted she was being a bit overdramatic, but it was her first wand for goodness sakes! Like, wasn't that the wizard's tool or companion or best friend or whatever? It was kind of super important! Like, very super important!
