Unsure of whether non-magical people... er, "Muggles"... were permitted in Diagon Alley, Lex had passed through the Leaky Cauldron while his grandparents remained outside. Having exchanged his currency, he perused the outside of several shops, periodically checking his list of supplies in an attempt to determine where everything could be purchased. Finally, he stopped outside of Ollivander's. Lex looked inside the dimly lit shop. Unlike the noisy and vibrant street outside, this place seemed a great deal calmer. He checked his list again - sure enough, he needed a wand. Might as well stop here first.
Lex stepped inside, tilting his head at the sight of an old tape measure hanging in the air. As he approached, it zipped towards him, intrusively taking every measurement Lex could fathom it requiring and several he felt it did not. Finally, seemingly satisfied, it zipped past him and was still, as if awaiting its next customer. Noticing the length of the queue in front, Lex decided to pass the time more observantly. He wandered around the storefront, looking around at the rows of boxes and wand accessories. He had a feeling he would be collected when it was his turn to be seen.
