So why had she been carrying that Hady thing around for the past few days? It was almost like she was just looking for reasons not to trust him. Even making them up along the way. "I want to." She corrected herself, giving him an apologetic look.

The hug was very welcome. Especially because it meant that she didn't have to see his face for a few seconds, didn't have to see that she'd managed to upset him. Hugging him back Maggie tilted her head upwards a little to plant a kiss on his jawline.

Now could they go back to joking about him having her kidnapped or something equally cheerful?
