He had been headed past the Student Bulletin board on the way to the Great Hall for a snack when something caught his attention. Many of the stuff added onto the board were attached to the board with a sticking charm. But there were several attached to the board with tacks, a couple of them loosen on the surface and with no parchment attached. Perfectly free to be used for a little more transfiguration.
Benny pulled one from the board and eyed it, moving it around in his fingers. Mushroom or quill....mushroom or quill. Nah, mushroom was too similar in size and vaguely shape. So quill it was. Leaning back against the stone wall for lack of a better perch while he focused on the magic needed while he casted on it. He then fished out the paper where he had all the spells written on it to refresh his memory.
Scribblifors...as in something to scribbling with.
Ready to go, the seventh year rested the tack on his open palm and exchanged parchment for wand. "Scribblifors...Scribblifors...SKRIB-luh-forz...Scribblifors." He practiced the spell to work out the incantion. It was a mouthful after all and nearly got him tongue-tied. When he was satisfied with the sound, Benny added the wand movement to the equation. A point and a flick to the right. "Scribblifors..." he cast a couple of times, the third time being the charm.
Voila!
One quill.
The Gryffindor even testing it out by writing a little note on one of the other notices. He'd count that as a success in the matter. Now off to the Great Hall for a celebratory snack.
