Removing an owl treat from her pocket she unlatched the door to the owls cage. Offering up the treat in her palm the fourth year patiently waited on her owl friend to come out. "Hey buddy, I hope you don't mind but I have two letters for you today. One for my father and one for my friend Lux." Hady kept her voice soft as she smoothed her free hand over the owls brown feathers.

"Enjoy your treat though first I'm in no rush." She wasn't. The letters would get to where they needed to go that much she knew. Plus right now she was content to just stand here and give some attention to the owl perched on her arm completely ignoring any owl 'messes' that might be around her.

Why did he have to climb all the way up to the Owlery? Why couldn't his owl come to him? He would only do that when there was a letter to deliver, not to seek them out. Yes, rationally Olly knew that it would be impossible for the owl to know when he wanted to send a letter but he should. Because Oliver hated the stairs.

Yet, he climbed up to the Owlery every week. His letter to Colin in hand, Olly made a beeline for his owl. He made sure to watch where he stepped of course. His dads would not be pleased if he got poo all over his shoes. He wouldn't like it much either.

Hey! Where was his owl? He was not in the usual spot, and Olly couldn't spot him anywhere else in the Owlery either. Had Ellery sent anything recently? Or was he just out hunting for mice or just flying around? Olly decided to wait around for a few minutes, to see if his owl would come back. He wanted to be able to send his letter today. But just standing there was so booooring. He glanced around, but there were not many people around. Not much interesting going on. But there was a girl near him.

"Who are you writing to?" He asked, trying to make conversation to pass the time.
