She felt immediately brighter as they stepped outside, and developed a skip in her step. "Oh! I picked up our flashcard." She dug it out of her pocket and held it up, waving it a little. "But I think secrets and personal things are different because I don't have any secrets really but I have lots of things that are about me personally because... I'm a person." Which made sense, obviously.
She noticed that Dot had taken a seat on a railing, but decided to give that a miss, and sit on the floor instead. Rowan quite liked sitting on the floor... it was closer to the ground or something... She did her best to listen intently to what the other girl was saying, though she was dying to chime in with "Yeah me too I used to get in trouble for it sometime but..." blah blah blah... etcetera.
And then it was her turn! "Well.. I talk lots too but I think it would be cheating to say the same thing. Sooooooooooo..." She made a soft humming sound whilst she thought of something... "Well, back home I live with twenty nine other people who are like my siblings and my aunts and uncles and my grammy and my mum. Except not all of them are actually related to me, we just all live together and stuff. It gets really loud sometimes and it's awesome 'cause there's always someone to talk to and it's kind of brilliant when you need someone to help you reach something because the adults will always help and if they're not there Laurel and Peter are really tall so that's handy." Rusty had, of course, lost her train of thought somewhere in that explanation, and wasn't paying much attention to the flashcard... "But sometimes I get homesick cause none of them can come h- OH!" She pointed at the card... where the 'personal' question had disappeared. "Your turn!" What was next... "It says... do an impression of a celebrity or a professor..." That was a lot lot LOT of people, and it sort of blew Dot's mind to think about. She'd grown up with just her mum and Oggie at home, and even then, none of them were properly related to each other. And here was Rusty with a house so full she couldn't even list them all in one breath. There were a million follow up questions forming in her head, but she was completely distracted by their question disappearing from the card.
Excellent! One down!
But an impression was challenging, and Dot didn't have an idea right away. She couldn't sing, so a musical impression was out, and she didn't think she and Rusty had quite the same list of celebrities. At long last, Dot had an idea. A bad one, but an idea was an idea.
She carefully climbed up on the railing and waved her arms in the air. "STELLAR!" Get it? She was Flamsteed, right? "I hope that counts... what about you?"
