Lil' gooz | Sarangel | Junior Dweeb The Grey Lady hoped Norah was going to accomplish something great like Dumbledore! She DID! Unable to hide her grin, she busied herself preparing her parchment for note taking. Ghosts were a bazillion years old, they knew EVERYTHING.
She pushed her funny shaped glasses a little further up her nose, putting a hand in the air before she could be tempted to scratch where her beard was rubbing against her face. This facial hair stuff was horribly uncomfortable. Dumbledore must've had a lot of willpower to not want to rip it right off his face all the time. Or maybe that kind of tolerance was an old person thing. "I think learning history is important for magic just like history is important for everything, 'cause you can use the past to learn all about how to understand the present and even what's going to happen in the future." Like learning from mistakes, except somebody else's instead of your own which was much better for the sake of dignity. "And a lot of what happened in history has to do with the people who were alive back then and what they did. Those people, like the ones we dressed up as, showed people lots of different things that could be done or discovered, so we can learn from them that anything is possible if you try hard enough, even if you failed the first time." That part was always hard to remember, so that's why dressing up could be extra important. Dumbledore couldn't have just found 12 uses of dragon's blood on the spot, right?
