If there was an award for sulking in a corner, Rooney Bronwyn would win every day of the year. Especially when in a close proximity to the Head Girl and Boy of Hogwarts when they were holding hands. Rooney was more than entirely aware that Miss Sophie Brown had a boyfriend, and that that boyfriend was the Head Boy and it caused an exceptionally large sized knot in his stomach that didn't go away with any and all thinking that he did. Roo was hiding behind his oversized Santa beard, and the pyjamas that his mother had sent him alongside a howler for ditching Christmas with his family.
She was not happy with him.
But he wanted to spend Miss Sophie Brown's first and last Christmas at the castle with her. Maybe a little further away than intended, because he didn't want to chew into his lip more than he did on a normal basis. The present he had for her got shoved under the tree that he was standing behind, her name on the tag beside a big red ribbon. Happy Christmas, Miss Sophie Brown.
But then she was heading this way and Rooney was a lost cause. She had a group with her, alongside a Professor also. He ducked under the tree and crawled toward another close by so that he could run and do something else. Decorating trees really wasn't his thing any longer.
