Okay, okay so he had been lying this entire time. He was stressed. And he was frustrated. And he wasn't getting the stupid nonverbal to work. Happy?

And though Professor Baxter seemed to be confident that he could get the spell to work eventually, Zander wasn't all too sure. Had she seen him try in class? He must've had at least ten attempts and none of them worked. It was hopeless. And everyone else had seen him fail at it too, which made everything TEN times worse. "Eeeeerrr.... Not exactly," he mussed his hair. He was frustrated, yes, but embarrassed to admit that it was his first time trying. It's not that the Professor's never encouraged them to try... But it was never mandatory until now, so he didn't feel the need. But clearly that was a terrible choice because it was coming to bite him in the back. sigh.

"Really? I-uh-Yeah, actually... Maybe that'd... help," outside of class. Outside of class where the others wouldn't see him failing. Maybe that'd make things better? Zander wasn't all too sure, but he was willing to try... Though uh, he was still trying to appear very disconnected and aloof here. Ahem. But he really was grateful that Baxter had even offered. Ahem.
