He attempted to again, get her off his paws.
But this time she actually did hop away... And woah. That was some massive wing span. Kind of made Zander wish he had chosen an animal that could get him in the air. Not like he was good enough with a broom to ever go flying for himself... So instead of walking around to get used to his knew body, he watched Sophie's in slight envy. He waited for her to take flight, watching her propel off the ground and into the air. Woah. That was WICKED COOL!!!
........ Where was she-- OI! WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!!!!
Sophie was racing to the tree??? But they hadn't even signaled and RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
Feeling totally cheated HMPH SOPHIE BROWN, Zander started off in a RUN towards the tree. At first very uneasy with the way he had to move. He started with a giant leap, letting his hind legs catch up to the front, before leaping again. Is this really how lions did things? Almost like a jump, meet in the middle, jump, meet in the middle. The algorithm wasn't easy to get used to and he was struggling quite a bit at first... Ahem. Quite possibly accidentally managing to tumble forward because of an accidental wrong leap with his hind legs instead of the front ones....
And he may have unintentionally ended up in a giant lion puddle in the grass. Ahem. But his cat-like reflexes kicked it and he was able to quickly (ish) recover and manage to get back on all fours again. Merlin. And you'd think being on four limbs would help him keep his balance.
[/COLOR] Sophie Brown was FLYYYYYING LIKE AN EAGLE. BECAUSE SHE WAS ONE. She BELIEVED SHE COULD FLY and was soaring higher and higher in the sky - it was hard to NOT keep climbing in altitude because the SKY WAS THE LIMIT. She could just keep going and going higher and higher, so she DID, veering herself sideways one way, then the other, making a wonky flight pattern in the air to any onlookers, but this was SOOOO COOL. WAY better than flying on a broomstick, that was for sure. She had WINGS and was SOARING, FLYING. There wasn't a star in heaven that she couldn't reach if she was trying, so she was breaking free.
The smell of the fresh air through her beak was... actually not as strong as she thought it would be, and for the first time she realized she couldn't really smell very well at all. Maybe... maybe the smelling sense of an eagle wasn't as keen as the sight or hearing? Both of those were really strong, so maybe her ability to smell was hindered in lieu of enhancing the other two senses. That was cool enough.
...But the keen ears made her HEAR a commotion down below, more than just the lion's paws making thumping noises as Zandelion ran - and she saw the end of his spill on the ground, just in time to see him recover and keep running.
What a nerd, even when he was a lion. Merlin.
Way too amused with his antics and with no way to show it - she couldn't laugh at him, she couldn't shout down to him - Soph ended up dive-bombing the lion below. The race didn't even matter now - they were both keeping up pretty well with each other anyway, really - and she let herself fall into a dive, her wings spread outward fully as she made her zooming descent--
And she adjusted her wings to slow herself down right before she got to him, then landed right on Zandelion's back. Hi, lion boyfriend. Hi.
