But the way this kid was staring at hi was like there was going to be a third wizarding war because this kid looked really angry and Brian didn't understand ANYTHING about why he was in such a mood in the morning.

Does. Not. Compute.

Rubbing his arm gingerly - because that was a VERY heavy book there - he inclined his head. "That was," he said, struggling for words. They were difficult so early in the morning. "Unnecessary?" Because he didn't do it on purpose? He just wasn't expecting anyone here this early on a weekend except Mister Kittredge. And most people already knew he walked around when he studied. Also, that was painful.
Strangely enough, Daxton felt better now. Not that it was all that strange to him. He considered the matter dealt with, now that retribution had been served.

With a look of blatant unconcern, Daxton gave a shrug. It hadn't been so unnecessary in his own mind, so the fact that someone else might think so was simply irrelevant. He turned the book over in his hands to check the cover and see the title, before flipping through and scanning a few pages.

Huh. Might be worth checking out later. In fact, Daxton considered taking this copy for himself, but he wanted to see what other books were on offer first, if there was something more interesting. He closed the book, then handed it back to the older boy.
