Kate didn't know what it was, but she kind of thought she'd reached that stage where she was 'growing up'. Sure, school was starting, but all she was really excited about was making new friends and keeping up with her current friends. This must really be what it was like to be a teenager. Kate had been ready to be a 'cool teen' her whole life, and now that it was here, she could hardly contain herself as she entered the train and looked for people she already knew.

Kate peered into the first compartment, trying to be as discreet as possible to not make a nuisance of herself. Hmm. Must be all incoming firsties, because Kate none of them, and they looked a little younger than her. A second glance showed her an empty compartment, and Kate opted to take it in hopes of having company sometime soon. She plopped down onto the seat and fiddled with her candy from Diagon Alley as she waited around.
