Jory was prepared for shouting and tears but certainly not just the ring being thrown back at him. It hit him hard in the chest and he caught it before it clattered to the floor. He rose when Ronnie got to her feet, yet again expecting words. None came though. He watched her turn away her teary eyes then watched her go, not hearing the words she said. Jory felt guilty. Very guilty but this also meant that he was free to be with Gwen.

Ronnie stood before storming off, waiting for Jory to say something that would make this all make sense. But he just stood there and this frustrated her even more. "So, that's it?" She said in a small voice. "You're probably not saying anything so you can get this all over with, huh?" She added, hands on her hips. "So you can go back to your precious Gwen. Well sorry I wasn't good enough. Should have put more thought before you gave that to me." She said, pointing at the ring. "Now we have to cancel the wedding and I have to return that bloody dress..." Tears began running down her cheeks. "You...stupid...git!" She snatched the ring from his hand, just in case he tried returning it or used it to propose to someone else. She wanted him to have wasted his money. She was so mad.
