Colt needed a new wand because his old one broke at home. Don't ask him how it happened, he had it with one second and the next he found it broken in his room. His best bet was his cousin and him were wrestling and they landed on his bed and it broke. His mother promised him he could get a new one and she kept that promise. He wanted to go at this alone, so he asked his mother to go do something else while he got measured.
As he entered the room and heard the tingling of the bell, he saw a lot more first years in this store. I mean it was typical because the first years needed a wand for Hogwarts. They weren't stupid and broke theirs. He found an empty bench and sat down and waited to be called. Tegz: Ira has responded here
