"TWO?! HOW DO THEY HAVE TWO?!" shrieked a large arachnid who used its abdomen to whack one of its smaller siblings towards the basilisks. "BETTER YOU THAN ME!"

Very few continued to attack, but they were blasted back by spells that sent them crashing into the back wall or their fellow arachnids.

Aletag, having just scurried all the way down from the highest part of the castle, stopped and nearly dropped his turkey at the sight while secreting some venom right there on the stone floor. The appearance of shiny blue lights from somewhere reminded him of the otter he had just been chasing around and became distracted with after those. Still with his turkey.

The moving mass of dark hairy bodies began to dwindle some as more and more became stunned in their panic. There were even some who, upon looking at the basilisks, fell over on to their backs assuming they had died.

"DO NOT CAST YOUR EYES UPON IT!" ordered one as it turned its back towards the oncoming serpents.

"SHAME WE DO NOT HAVE FLESH FLAPS ON OUR EYES!" barked another.

"RETREAT!" hissed a third.

Gripping his wand tighter under his cover, he moved and mimicked the movement of the snake and started to throw stunning spells at the vulnerable arachnids closest to him.

He moved in further, slithering amongst his fellow 'snakes'', and was quick to cast another stunning spell at the giant spider that...was thrown at him? His spell had hit it squarely, sending it back to the hard wall with a dull thud. Ethan was quite surprised at the strength of his non-verbals. Was it because his spells were thickly laced with anger and spite for the creatures? Well, they did take Gregoire's life last term, so it was just right to get even. In fact, this...their stunning spells aren't really enough.

Ethan re-grouped with the rest of the Snake party, assessing the situation as he sandwiched himself in between the stunners. One lone spider caught his attention. It looked like it was bleeding profusely, slash, wetting its pants out of fear while...holding a turkey? Huh. Eccentricity seems to be innate in each and every single one of them, including the humans. "Professors? Friends? Countrymen? We have a situation." Ethan nudged the camouflaged body beside him HOPING it was a professor underneath, and pointed his wand at the cutespider that was glued on its spot.

It was working! The gruesome beasts were being thrown into panic, and one was even suggesting a full retreat! "Stupefy!" was her continual cry, aiming at random as arachnids scurried frenetically around the hall.

Then she heard someone behind her. It sounded like Ethan Mordaunt. "Spit it out, Mordaunt! What's the problem??" She wasn't taking her eyes off of the spiders in front of her until absolutely necessary.
