The thing was, he couldn't look away from Gwen even though he was occupied with his churning emotions. "I am?'' he questioned mildly. Without realising it, he had leaned closer to her. She was like a magnet, drawing him in.

"I don't know what you're going to say but it couldn't have been more important than this...'' Then Jory did something that he would not have done without thinking twice. He kissed Gwen softly on her lips.

He opened his eyes as he pulled back. Already, the emotions were drowning him, guilt and apprehension were the dominant ones.
