Cutty was smiling when the lights went out. A hapless sort of grin that managed some genuine mirth in keeping with the positivity that Professor Morgan was trying to set off in the room. When it all went dark, his first reaction was excitement, but being unfamiliar with the hissing sound he naturally clung to Beverly Wayne. She'd protect him. M'mm h'mm.
His curiosity was piqued and he became more excited than fearful when he'd heard the Professor scream. What a sound it was. He had not heretofore met another like it or known that sound had such power of resonance.
The lights were back on and he quickly let go of Beverly Wayne. Also, the ball had slowed to a full and complete stop. Bob was outty.

“I’m not sure Aj, but maybe a book bag or a purse.” She eyed the girls in the room it would be easier for them to turtlenap they had purses. She couldn’t help but stare at Aj a bit and then at Lux, “Pebbles? Who is? Oh you mean that silly little rock of Professor Flamesteed?” She had forgotten all about him and that silly little rock adoption thing. So weird to her why someone would want a nonliving object for a pet. “The hissing was Bob, if you remember in the last class we discussed that a turtle makes a hissing noise as they pull their body into their shell.” They were very good hissers.
She watched Angel a few minutes before shaking her head, “Please calm down we will find Bob he has to be in this room. No one has come in or went out so the person that has taken him is right in this room.” She just had to figure out who that was. Her next glance went to Kace, “You know many people say the person that is guilty is the person that first denies the guilt.” He started the sentence with I didn’t, that was a key factor in any guilt. “No the hissing came from Bob, he is still alive I can sense him, just it’s dark where he is so he can ‘t help me.”
“I know someone in this room has Bob and if you aren’t going to come out and say you have him we will have to do this a different way.” With a flick of her wand the lights lowered to a creepier glow, the room seemed a bit darker. She moved to erase the word Plastromancy and wrote Coscinomancy Turning back to the class she picked up her peppermint tea.
“Can anyone tell me what this is and what does it mean?”
Accusations were flying and he didn't find them unjust or illogical. Bob was somewhere in this room. And one of these students had him. Maybe an animal lover who didn't trust that Bob would not be used in someway or another for Plastromancy. He looked around at mostly the witches in the room...'Cept Bev. If it wasn't a dragon she wasn't very likely to give a murtlaps bottom about it.
He could think of several ways of retrieving the turtle. Starting to search all dark spaces in the room for starts, maybe even summoning the turtle, but it was far more exciting to watch a courtroom drama so he left that be and raised a hand to add to the answers given by the class. "
It's a very old practice. Soom muggles thought they knew how it wehrked and would actually use it to determine who was guilty or innocent in early forms of joostuss."
