Giving Saxon the floor, so to speak, Mariel turned her green eyes on the Gobstones division manager as she summarized what they were planning to do. She knew the date had been set, March 7th, and most of the details worked out. And it seemed that Saxon agreed. She figured it as likely to go smoothly enough. "I will be on maternity leave when this takes place." And hopefully have had her baby at that point. She was due March 1st, she couldn't imagine going an extra week, especially as Regina had been three weeks early. She already felt so huge. "So if you need anything at the last minute, please let Victoria know." And she nodded at Vic as she essentially offered her assistance as well.
Mariel also gave a smile to Ms. Kim as she offered her help as well. It was always good to see the new ones eager to jump in and do their jobs. Plus she was glad to see she had gotten some of the food she had brought too. With the Gobstones business taken care of for now, the department head decided to move on to other things.
"You may or may not know that Mrs. Recard is no longer the Transportation Department Head at our Ministry. While she was here, she and her team were beginning to put into place the regulations necessary for the invisible broom that had come through our department. Because it came here in its initial stages, I do feel some sense of responsibility to see it through completion. However, I don't know how far Mrs. Recard and her team got with it before the new head of department began employment. Adam?" She paused and looked at the Patents division manager. "Since I'll be going on maternity leave very soon, would you mind visiting Ms. Purcell on Level Six just to make sure everything is continuing to go smoothly. If the laws and regulations haven't been enacted by the time Ms. Purcell started her employment here, she may have some questions about it to get those passed." And since he had overseen the invisible broom's initial stages, she'd figured he'd be the most qualified to speak to her. "If not, I can speak to her when I get back." Or if he wanted her to go with him for whatever reason, but she didn't think there was any urgency there.
And to briefly touch on Quidditch. "Quidditch season seems to be going well so far?" she nodded, looking to Victoria. Unless there were any minor issues she was unaware of, but they could speak on that now if need be. "When I return from my leave, I'd like us to schedule a meeting with International Cooperation regarding International Youth Games and perhaps we can also begin putting a plan into motion about hosting the next World Cup." It was a few years away yet, but she would love nothing more than for Britain to be the site for the games.
