On the other hand, what would people think of him if he suspected his colleague? He had such a high profile here, and he wasn't ready to throw it away. He really wouldn't put it past an auror to be involved in dark matters, no, so he acknowledged Sabel had to be interrogated, but... it had to be done sneakily, without prodding his stupid, so-called auror gut. "I'll think about it, okay?" he said in a case-closed tone. Maybe tomorrow's breakfast... hmm... He was impossible.
"Fine," she responded shortly with a defeated sigh, standing up and crossing her arms in front of her chest as she gave him a long, calculating look. "Whatever you decide, just know that I like him, and if you'll remember correctly, I was a good judge of character in liking you when you were a new professor and a lot less amiable than you are now." It wasn't even meant as an insult - it was fact, and they both knew it. It was no secret that he'd lightened up considerably over time. He just was a much cooler, laid back, fun guy than he had been when he first took the job.
She gave a shrug, then, and started for the door. "Trusting people isn't a bad thing, y'know." He'd do well to learn that sooner rather than later.
