'Cause I could've dropped it on my way down?" He was really just speaking his thoughts out loud at this point.

Man, whoever this girl was... She was really dang nice. Helping him look and all. Zander owed her one.

As for the Headmistress though, that woman was not-so-nice. Or at least the parts that Zander had encountered. "Erm... Well, I'm sort of on thin ice with her," meaning this was actually his third chance at being Prefect because he almost lost it twice. So... losing the badge would mean strike three and surely he'd be sacked. But he WASN'T going to think about that, okay? Oh sweet Merlin.

Of course he had a wand, but what did that have to do with--OH. Duh. Magic. He was a wizard, right. Sometimes it was hard to remember when you were standing in the middle of a giant, enchanted castle in the middle of a corridor, surrounded by tons of talking portraits. Simple mistake, anyone could've forgotten. Happens to everyone. Taking his wand out of his pocket, he at first thought about using a charm to move the statue, but then decided against it after realizing a levitation charm might prove to be more effective. That way he could see the whole ground. "Wing-GAR-dee-um levi-OH-sa," he concentrated hard, knowing very well that a heavy statue would be harder to lift. Continuing to hold his wand in the air as the statue floated up, he quickly scanned the ground in hopes of....

"Oh man, it's not there..."

Welp. This was a GRAND DISASTER.

Of course it was a good idea. It was Maggie's after all.

But she was trying to keep up her good Samaritan act so she just nodded and smiled. "Exactly." Good thinking, Zander! Or something. Yes. "I'm Maggie by the way." Assuming he didn't already know that. Remember it Zander. You'll be hearing that name A LOT in the future. It was going to be one of the most important names in the history of Hogwarts. Maybe she was going to get one of those statues........okay she was getting a little carried away there.

Would she look good in stone?

On thin ice? Huh. "What happened?" She asked casually, eyes still on the floor in search for the badge. Any piece of information could be useful. Especially when it was related to the Headmistress. Why would she continue having a Prefect whom she didn't exactly like or something? Or with whom she was 'on thin ice' with, anyway. Interesting.

FINALLY he reached for his wand. Which made Maggie tighten her grip on hers too, just in case. Although it was highly unlikely that he would think of summoning the badge now. He was going to move that statue with sheer force after all. Zander CLEARLY was not the brightest Gryffindor. How had he been made Prefect again? She REALLY wanted to know now.

.........

A worried look paired with disappointment was on her face when Zander came to realize that the badge was NOT there. "........I guess we'll have to walk back then." Back as in back to the Astronomy classroom. And back as in to Professor Flamsteed's office. They had to tell the Head of House eventually after all.
