Penelope wasn't one to miss anything where you could learn something new. She liked Greek mythology. Penelope looked at the tables that were set up in the front of the room. There were rubber balls and mugs on one of the tables. What did that have to do with mythology? Another table had apples. She could think of a few stories from Greek mythology that involved golden apples. Paris judging which goddess was the most beautiful and should receive a golden apple had sort of been the cause of the Trojan war. The eleventh labor of Hercules had been to steal apples from the garden of the Hesperides. A third table had clay, wires, and wax. What could this be for? The wax reminded Penelope of the story of Icarus, who had flown so close to the sun that the wax holding his wings together had melted. Wax wasn't the best choice of adhesive to hold the feathers together, but Daedalus probably didn't have anything better when he was making the wings. There were many interesting stories in Greek mythology.
Penelope found a seat and filled out a name tag. Quote: Penelope Wright
Ravenclaw
Fourth Year The instructor's name was Apollo? Like the Greek god of the sun, poetry, music, archery and healing? That was cool. Her own name came from Greek mythology. Penelope was the name of Odysseus' wife in The Odyssey.
