And she couldn't help smile most of the time, even though she felt really little in such a hugemongous castle filled with mostly tall adults and students... But still she felt excited.

And even more than all of that. She was excited because Lance and her were on their way to talk to Professor Airey about adopting their very own rocks! Marsha still felt really bad for saying that she and lance should eat food first before leaving the table only to be swept away by the prefects before they could go into the hall and ask about adoption options.

Looking at the boy next to her, the Welsh girl grinned. [b]"Do you know what kind you want?"[b] Were there kinds of rocks? Did you get to choose or were the rocks like wands and they chose you? Hmm. She'd have to ask Professor Airey that...

"I don't even know what options there are," he said, running his hands through his hair. He was nervous, for sure. Adopting pets were serious times. "Or if we'll even be allowed to have one. OR... what if there's none left? And we were too late?" What a depressing thought. He nervously knocked lightly on the door, taking a step back to wait, glancing towards the pictures upon the wall as he fidgeted in place. One of them sure looked awfully like the Professor himself.

Wait...

The astronomer could only imagine what must be going through their heads having received such instructions from his usual laid back self, but he had not meant to make them wet their trousers or anything. That was the sort of reaction he expected and reserved for an unfortunate encounter with the Headmistress. So...hopefully they were not panicking too much.

And hopefully Mr. Adair had put two and two together by now and figured out that he was a bit of a project for the Head of House.

Nodding again at the time - and because there was not a knock at his door just yet - the suited astronomer returned his attention to his book.

Deciding he needed to take a more proactive step towards...personal matters...Airey sat at his desk with his knitting needles doing a bit of creative expression. While he long to make some more Star Trek dolls, he was currently busy attempting to knit his first pair of booties. Star Trek themed, of course.

He was just finishing up the black embellishment for the left bootie - and still had yet to actually START those - when the knock on the door occurred. In a bit of a panic, he threw his work into the top drawer and slammed it shut...promptly slamming his own fingers in the draw as well.

"SON OF A BARYON!" he barked. His fingers throbbing from the pain as he walked over to the door, he managed to compose himself before swinging open the door and greeting the Ravenclaw prefect with a pleasant smile. Sort of. It was a bit forced.

"Good day, Mr. Banner. What a pleasant surprise. What can I do for you?"

He felt the need to lay on the pleasantries considering that was a very good change that the timid young man had heard his, ahem, outburst.

Prepping Pebbles AND Boulder for what was about to happen, the Astronomy professor eagerly scampered towards the door when he heard the knock. Swinging it open, he greeted the Hufflepuff with an unmatched enthusiasm.

"Look alive, Mr. Nicolei. The day is still young and fit for a walk," he grinned. "I hope you are wearing comfortable shoes?" He looked down at the young man's feet. They looked alright, but he was a bit out of touch with teenage fashion these days.
SPOILER!!: THE ICKLE FIRSTIES <3

Unfortunately for these first years, the professor was not actually IN his office the moment they knocked. Fortunately for them, however, he was just heading back from a bit of research in the Observatory. "Good day, Miss Hanover. Mr. McWitty," he greeted, offering the two first years a quick salute with the hand that was not currently occupied with star charts and other astronomical equipment. "What brings you two by?"

Bit early in the term for first year angst, wasn't it?

Zigzagging rapidly through the corridors of the castle, the vibrant red envelope found it's way into its recipient's hands (sweetpinkpixie) and instantly began heating up to scalding temperatures.

Hurry up, professor. BEFORE IT EXPLODES ALL UP IN YOUR FACE!
