His mum was an herbologist, k?

So, back to the worm hunt. He found another wiggly earthworm and tugged it free from its dirty home, not grasping at first that manure = poop. Oh. That was why she was laughing. He paused to crack a crooked smile at her, watching what she was doing with her sweater. If that had been his sweater, his mum would have flayed him alive. But Char's sweater? She was just donating it to their cause! Aww. "That's brilliant!" Perfect! The earthworms would be snuggled by Char's jumper!

He happily dropped his two worms onto her sweater and then scooped up dirt to put on top of them. "We do need to keep them alive until the time of the experiment..." he mused, almost not noticing her poop!giggles now because he was so focused on his scientific task.
See, Char KNEW she was smart. She listened to things. Picked stuff up. Selectively sure, because there was WAY too many interesting things to see and do to listen for too long, but still, she knew stuff! She nodded emphatically, like she was so wise. Wise herbologist or wormwrangler or something, talking biz, you know.

"I know!" BRILLIANT. Using her jumper. Okay it wasn't a super warm day, so she might get a bit chilly later but usually that wasn't a problem because she kept moving a lot and never really slowed down enough to feel the cold unless it was really bad to start with, or she was naked in the snow or something.

"Yeah we have to be really nice hosts. Lull them into a... into a.... sake fence of security." She said solemnly. Not that she knew what a sake fence was, but she'd heard grown ups say that or something like it before so she thought she knew. A fence that was for... some sake? A fence for security's sake? Maybe. Keeping worms in a fenced in area to keep them safe? Right? That was the gist of what that meant.... right? Right.

She plucked another worm from the ground and transferred it to its new home in her fuzzy, dirty jumper. Now that her poop-related giggles were dissipating, she had some science questions probably. "If you joined two animals together at the middle and they had heads on both ends, and then they tried to go different ways, which one would win? Also, how would they poop? Also, how do worms poop?"
