Moxley could tell that the kiddos were growing restless with all the talk of delicious-yet totally bad for you-noms. It was all part of the plan, of course. Get the kiddos hungry and then make them work for their food. She was a GENIUS! Slightly mean and maybe a bit crazy, but MOXLEY WAS A PURE GENIUS. And her plan would continue after the examples were given. They were nearly to the fun part of the lesson! Congratulations to THEM.
Grabbing a marker and turning to face the floating white board situated behind her desk, Moxley took down the answers as they came in. SPOILER!!: Individual Responses Quote:

That was a specific answer. Clearly this one had been to one of these places before. Moxley smiled and nodded her head before jotting it down. ”Where kids are concerned, some of the bigger fast food chains have thrown in toys with their meal options. Makes the kids beg their parents to come back again.” Quote:

He heard Angel's answer and he agreed with her. He nodded and then raised his hand and said, "Professor I know there is a dollar menu in fast food restaurants. It is for people who want a little something without having to pay so much for it." I mean he would always use that option and give himself two burgers and only pay 2 bucks for it. It was so easy. Oh, another answer she’d not expected. Dollars though, not everyone was familiar, she guessed? ”Yes, some places have single items that are priced cheaply for those wishing to get a snack rather than a meal! Very good.” Quote:

As long as she didn't have to eat any vegetables it sounded like the bestest idea ever.
What's on a fast food menu? YUMMY STUFF, definitely. Like the ice cream that was all swirly, and the ickle fried chicken bitty things. Heh. But obviously the most important one was, "French fries! Like little strips of potato-y things. 'Cept I dunno why they're called 'French' 'cause they don't taste very much like French food..." she paused and shrugged, 'cause even if 'Frites' were similar 'n all that she thought it wasn't the sma ebut who knew for sure. She'd eaten a lot of French food considering the whole half-French thing, but she hadn't eaten everything French just yet. She was working on it, okay? "They're really good, though!" Norah put her hand down and grinned at Professor Moxley some more. Maybe if she smiled enough they'd get to eat sooner. Quote:

The next question involved menu items, and of course she now had fries on the brain. Raising her hand eagerly, she called out "French fries!!" Yummy. She wanted some RIGHT NOW. Moxley laughed here because gosh, Norah was the cutest. Well, not QUITE as cute as her own daughter because let’s face it, Moxley genes were good ones, but she did enjoy Ms. Kittredge. And she had another red head agreeing with her! How lovely. ”Very good, girls! Chips, or French fries, are certainly good and an extremely popular choice at fast food restaurants!” Quote:

It was the cheese. And pepperoni. And crust....Actually, all of it was good; greasy and satisfying. Most definitely one of his comfort foods.
....and this lesson was going to dwindle for him...unless they were allowed to eat SOMETHING. Talking about food...was making his breakfast seem insignificant. A shame...since it had been a LARGE breakfast, too. He'd been unusually hungry that morning. Hard to explain. ”Piiiizaaaaa.” Moxley dreamy sighed because pizza. She loved pizza. ”Great example, Mr. Banner. Pizza is a crowd pleaser and a popular fast food item!” Quote:

This one, however....."Tacos." Mmm. And now she wanted one. Or two. And a slice of pizza...and fries. Wait, what were they talking about again? Food on the brain here, with hunger setting in. Maybe she shouldn't have skipped lunch to study for OWLs, because now she wasn't going to be able to concentrate for the rest of the lesson. Not with all this talking about food stuff. Interesting pick. Moxley added it to the board, complete with a little doodle of one for their viewing pleasure. ”Tacos do indeed count, though they’d probably be served at specialty fast food restaurants. Ones where Mexican-style food is featured.” Quote:

He should definitely ask Simon over the summer to hang out with him at a local pizza place…or a burger joint…Yup!
And an example? Merlin, their professor isn’t helping their stomachs right now. “Burgers, professor.” He said as he raised his hand to answer Moxley’s question. “…with at least five layers of burger patties…and lots of cheese AND BACON in between.” Ethan grinned and HOPED that they will make one soon. He kinda miss the food-driven lessons from two terms ago. Moxley’s eyes widened slightly because was it norma for someone to eat a burgetr with five layers of burger patties? Talk about a heart attack in a bun. Still, Moxley was growing hungry now too. Oh no, her plan was BACKFIRING! Quick, Moxley! Speed things up. ”Burgers, yes! Universally loved and with endless options on how to spice them up. Burgers are a top seller at fast food places!” Quote:

But the question was what kind of food showed up on this fast food menu? What was a fast food to make that was also delicious? "Grilled cheese? Or scrambled eggs! Maybe pancakes? They're kind of fast, but they get cold pretty fast. Also, um, professor? If you're a slow crup, I bet you think that rabbits are pretty fast food." Just saying. Moxley smiled a little because this one wasn’t exactly up on the fast food menu items and that was okay. Refreshing, even. She hoped it meant the red head ate healthier choices. An adult could dream, right? ”Those foods would be fast to make, yes! I can definitely say that eggs and pancakes can be found on certain fast food menus for breakfast! Though they’re only served for a few hours at most.” Specialties and all. As for her comment about the crup and the rabbits, Moxley giggled. Oh gosh! She giggled and snorted and covered her mouth to stop more giggles, shoulders shaking slightly until she was all laughed out. ”Oh Dot, I like your brain.” Quote:

The one time Zander Adair was feeling pretty answer-happy. Man okay, well there were TONS of other things. Fast food was brilliant. Actually, food in general was brilliant.
In fact, Zander wasn't getting the whole 'I-should've-skipped-this-class" feeling like he generally did once a class started. Actually, if all there was to learn about was food, Zander Adair could've totally been placed in Ravenclaw House.
Ahem. Back to the point, which was FOOD. Man, this lesson was great. He loved it. "Most places have soft-serve icecream, not sure if that counts as food... But it should." Most definitely should, in Zander's expert opinion. ”I suppose it does count, Mr. Adair! Many places have it listed on their dessert menus, which makes it part of the fast food family, I’d say! Very good.” Gosh, now she wanted ice cream. Could she maybe add that on to the list of certain items being sent up or? Hmm.. Quote:

Adi was getting even hungrier. He really wished he could sink his teeth into a burger or something right about now. Uh oh. He was getting distracted again. Time to focus! Yush! The Puffer forced himself to make notes pertaining to the first question but then he was once again thinking about burgers when he heard the next question. Of course he was. The topic was food, after all.
Hand up, Adi answered, "Fried chicken, Professor.'' One of the best things ever invented. Hehe. Were they starting to get that fast food came in many different styles? Moxley hoped so. Many types of foods could be listed under the title, depending. Like this one. ”Yes! There are actually chains devoted to the art of fried chicken and many people are fans.” Quote:

He was brought up living like a muggle for years so it was no surprise to him.
He raised his hand and answered confidently, “Most of the menus are hamburgers, and they have long thin bite-size fried potatoes called french fries and they also serve bubbly drinks that make your throat tickles, oh right…they come in as a set, you can just pick a set you want and they will serve it to you.” The fries and Burgers had been touched on but the beverage mention was what had Moxley smiling. Something new to add to the list was always a good thing! ”Fizzy drinks, yes! Those are something not previously mentioned and many are sugary and bubbly and quite popular, though loaded with sugar. And as mentioned, many come with your choice of a meal.” Quote:

BACK IN THE ROOM.
JUST IN TIME FOR THE QUESTION. Toby could already hear some of stuff that came to mind being provided by others, but he had ANOTHER IDEA which technically wasn't an item on the menu BUT TECHNICALLY SORTA WAS. "CHEESE!" the sixth year said excitedly, hand way up in the air and reACHING FOR THE STARS. "It's not a menu ITEM but they have it on soooOOOO much STUFF. And it's always real good cheese, too. The best. Fast food cheese is such gOOD CHEESE. Man, I love cheese."
Oh, he'd gotten carried away again. Talking a lot tended to happen when he was THIS HYPER.
Dude. Cheese. Toby could TOTALLY GO for some cheese right now. Tons of melted cheese on a pizza, oh Merlin. Please say they were making food today. ”Don’t we all, Mr. Fuller-Thompson!” Moxley scribbled down the word cheese in BIG letters and then drew a picture of a wedge of cheese because she was feeling excited. Also because cheese WAS awesome. ”Many fast food places find a way to put cheese on all kinds of things, including chips!” Quote:

LULZ.
NOW TO THINK OF FOOOOOOOD that fast food places would have but this was SO SO SO EASY FOR EDEN LOL. "Most establishments sell breakfast too! And so they have the general breakfast foods..." she grinned. "LIKE PANCAKES." YES YES YES. Pancakes. And chocolate milk. And hash browns. And...
UGH. Eden was wiggling and Moxley could only assume she needed to use the loo. ”If you need to make a trip to the ladies’, Miss McGee, you can go quickly!” See? Moxley understood. Girl power and all that. Eden didn’t have to hold it all lesson.
Her answer came first, though. Moxley nodded her head and smiled. ”Very good! I think I mentioned a bit about breakfast options to Dot and you’ve summed it up quite nicely!” Alright! List was made, questions had been asked, now it was time to move on to other things.
Moxley grinned at the group and then crouched down behind her desk, picking up a large box. She popped up again and placed it down on her desk with enthusiasm, giving the class a minute to mentally guess what was inside before opening it up to show them… … …
Hair nets and rubber gloves. Oh yes. It was time to rock these babies. ”Now as you can imagine, handling other people’s food means you want to keep your germs to yourself! These things-“ Moxley slipped on a pair of rubber gloves and them removed her hat, opting to wear a hair net instead. ”Are to help you lot, and those working in fast food restaurants, do just that. I’d like everyone to come up and grab yourself a pair of gloves and a hair net, please. Then put them on so we can get on with our activity!” BEAAAAAM!
