Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ SPOILER!!: Well, we won't stop you then, but you have been warned XD And sassing? What sassing? *innocent* Quote:

Because he hadn't said anything rude... Not that he could think of anyways. But this wasn't a disapproving stare so much as it was one of careful evaluation. It confused Zander a bit, much like most of the things this First Year was capable of. Where in Merlin's name did she learn to stare like this? Quite unsettling actually.
Tugging at the end of his robes, he looked back up at her just in time for what she said next. Huh? Show him the ropes? "I-uh-yeah, yeah I can definitely do that!" he nodded a bit, the invite was unexpected. Especially after she had stared at him for so long. Was she deciding whether to invite him? Huh. "Sounds like fun," the farm stuff, that is. Zander hadn't ever been on a farm before. Reckon it'd be a good time or something like that. Different. Adventurous, even? If it was anything like Herbology, y'know?
.... Uh. So that was it then, he wasn't going to get an answer? Uh. Right. The Gryffindor didn't really know what else to do next, so he just went back to poking around the rocks. Maybe the answer was better left unsaid?.... 'Cause did he really want to know if she ate bugs? Yeah, no maybe not. Especially since she was going to be the one to test out their charm theory. Couldn't discourage her y'know?
Speaking of which, this beetle was a pretty good start. He'd have to ask her what it tasted like once she-- What. HIS? "... Uh. Do you really think it's necessary that we... You know... Both eat them?" he gave her a bewildered kind of stare as he looked down at the bug. He still hadn't picked it up, by the way. Just starin at the thing. Making sure it didn't go out of sight. "If one of us eats it, isn't that enough? We'd be able to prove the theory and all." See? So Amur could eat the bug-- since she may or may not have done it before-- and they'd be all in the clear. No need to make anyone else eat them. Nope. Amur perked up at his acceptance of her offer. Of course, why wouldn't he have accepted? She couldn't think of a good reason, but still there had been a bit of worry that he would turn her down. But he didn't. So she could teach him things! So many things!
"Great! It'll be ah-mazing! We have a loft you can stay in. And chickens and geese to herd. And a few cows we can try to tip. And of course there's grandma's pie and grandpa's stories all about the fire with a cuppa warm milk." Was it summer yet? Could it be summer yet?
Amur rocked a little as she stared off at nothing in particular. School didn't seem so fun anymore. Not with the work and the studies and the work and the studies and the .... yeah. She missed the farm.
But bugs! This was sort of farm-like, right? Sort of like homework but not really too. She shook her head and brought her thoughts back to the present. If they could make every day till the end of the term this fun, then school would be fun. Plus, she couldn't leave yet. There were things to be done. Important things.
Like this.
"Of course it's necessary." Silly question. Amur tucked her foot under herself as she turned the worm about between her fingers, glancing between it and Zander. "We both have a different type of bug, so it's important for research sake that we try each one. Make sure the spell works on both, you know? Otherwise, we can't completely prove the theory. We would only be able to say that it works on crunch bugs or squishy bugs, not both." She tried to think of a better way to explain it and then the thought hit her. "Like apples and lemons. If you try the spell on one, say the apple, you can't say for sure that it'll work on the lemon. You've got to try both."
She paused in her explanation and gave Zander a considering eye. Was he ... nervous about eating a bug? Or touching a bug? "If you want something a bit softer, you can have this one." Extending her arm, she held out the worm to him, the bug flip-flopping between her fingers.
"Neither will bite." He would, but it wouldn't. The private joke had her giggling a bit.
