Tomatoes, for one." Because in this particular argument, she had decided it was a vegetable. Tomorrow, it might be a fruit. Depended on what the conversation was. "And sweet potatoes." Cause they were naturally sweet, right? She'd never tried one. Oh and... "Cooked carrots, but not plain, with brown sugar."

Had she lost him? She was afraid she had. Settling a little bit, Amur did her best to take his curiosity serious. "But I'm sure it would help with spinach. Or asparagus." Though there was the texture thing. Now she was making weird faces.

As for inedible, she had been thinking more along the lines of rocks or twigs. Things that one literally could not eat. But bugs? "Bugs are edible." She said it so matter-of-factly anyone around might have thought it was her daily breakfast meal. Time to clarify. "Animals eat them all the time. And occasionally children." Yeah, that was learned from the farm cats, thank-you-very-much.

Still, there was that muggle show where eating bugs looked tasty. Maybe it was? She looked around them and lifted up her knees, looking under her legs. "If we could find one, we could test the theory."

The news about the house elves took considerably longer to settle in. She eyed him, and eyed him some more. "I suppose it sounds alright, and I get wanting company." It'd be like a sleepover, all the time, with all one's friends instead of only a select few. "And as long as the beds are comfy." But still, there was still something unsettling about it.

She knotted her sleeve, frowned and decided it was because she simply didn't know. She didn't know how house elves were supposed to live. She didn't know how they were supposed to think. She didn't know what they liked or didn't like. She simply didn't know. But the Headmistress would. And they would see her and get this whole thing sorted out. Amur nodded to herself.

Her eyes went back up to Zander and she offered him a smile. "Thank you for sharing. I'm glad you got to see it."

Now, onto other important matters. She lifted up her knees again and poked about the ground by her feet. Time to find a worm to test Zander's theories.

Zander raised a single eyebrow at the giggling because girls giggled a lot. And it was weird. Had he said something stupid? Tilting his head a bit, he considered her explanation and then no. He shook his head confidently. "You know, for only being eleven... twelve...? Are you twelve? Anyways, you know a lot of vegetables." Though uh, she sort of did lose him there. Good things vegetables wouldn't show up on his OWLs, right? Ahem.

Her thoughts on spinach and asparagus though? Ew. That sounded terrible, though he was doing his very best not to make a face because polite and all. Except once she made a face, he couldn't hold back and soon enough he was laughing. "Maybe we should just stay away from the vegetable thing then, huh?" Yeah, they were gross enough on their own, no need to try and make them doubly so by sweetening and all that. It was a weak idea from the start.

"Do YOU eat bugs?!?" Okay, okay he was making faces again. She did spit promises, so he wouldn't be all too surprised. Not that he was judging her for it or anything...... Just.... Zander Adair would never eat bugs in a billion years. Not even if he was all out of chocolate frogs and bugs were the only things left that resembled snacks. Not. Even. Then.

Seeing her search under her legs, the Fifth Year did the same, before he looked up at her with his eyebrows raised. "Don't a lot of bugs live under rocks?" There were a couple of those around the tree. Maybe they could find a worm or something under one of those? It was worth a shot... Riiiiiight?

He was, however, glad that she wasn't still all too upset about the House Elf thing, though she didn't look all that convinced yet. Merlin, if only he had been able to go after Amur when they went. "I would've told you to join if I knew that's where they were taking us," he had been thinking about her the whole time, actually. Well okay, the whole time until the point where Toddles stole another chocolate frog because from that point forward it was all about getting the frog back. Heh. Oops. BUT WAIT! BRILLIANT IDEA OVER HERE, "I think Puck had her camera!! Maybe she can show us some of the pictures she took so you can see what their home looks like?" It wasn't exactly like being there... But it was something. "OR maybe if we go back to the kitchens, they'd invite us over again? I happen to be best friends with Toddles now." Uh, sort of.
