She saw some people at the main desk but decided that she'd just continue exploring this fantasy room on her own while she was at it. No use in abandoning the fun of being lost, right? She walked along the edge of the room, looking at all of the photos when she heard someone call out a 'Ms. Greene'. She recognized that name because she remembered someone mentioning that a Ms. Greene would be working in the same department, but she had yet to really meet anyone with the extent of her research that she was doing.

Alana watched as a man walk over to the woman and she asked if he was a 'Mr. Mitterbill'. Wait a second. That was the department head. Right. Maybe she should introduce herself seeming as she hadn't even met the person who had hired her. So rude, very rude, indeed.

Alana walked over to the two with a small smile on her face and gave a slight wave. "I hope m'not intruding, I couldn't help but hear; Ms. Greene and Mr. Mitterbill, yes? I'm Alana Ritter and I thought I vould introduce myself." She said, in her German accent. "I'm also in ze department ov mysteries." She nodded towards the woman.

Out of the corner of his eye, Jasper spotted the newest member to the Charmist team as she wandered into the archives. Though she seemed a bit hesitant, he wrote it off as her being nothing more than garden variety new employee jitters. Inwardly, he experienced a fleeting moment of pride at the new hire. She was already getting right into work.

She then approached.

Whoops.

A certain Department Head, and we aren't going to say who, had forgotten to send all of the new hires their orientation packets. His mind immediately vacated toward remedy and did not stop to consider the cause of such a mishap. Which was very foolish of a wizard prone to strange and unconscious action. Nonetheless, ...

"Miss Ritter! The new Charmist. The pleasure is all mine." He would've extended a hand were they not occupied with a sheeted object or objects. "How clever of you to meet us down here. I was just showing Mr. Prince...Nathan around the Department. Giving him a tour. Answering his questions and all that. You're welcome to join if you like, Miss Ritter."

Standing up form her squatting position in the rows of files. She turned toward the voice.

Hello! Just Beth will do" She said wiping some of the dust off of her black maxi skirt. It made Beth feel slightly old with the Ms. Greene business."You must Mr. Mitterbill." Elizabeth told her the man in front of her. Which had to be her boss. "I apologize for not getting a chance to stop by your office before. But there was already a stack of work for me, and it did not feel right leaving it unattended." There, that explained why she didn't go introduce herself right? Now that Beth thought about it, she really should have stopped by. "But none the less, what can I do for you Sir?

Everyone and first names here! In his years of life, Jasper had learned nothing of getting too friendly too fast and so this suited him well. He took it as a sign that they were at ease the new Unspeakables were. "Alright, Beth." He said with a smile. "That's me, yes." His smile maintained as he realized this one was no mucking about. "I've come to make a deposit. This just arrived in my office." He said holding up the thin and sheeted object.

But he was going to be a good boy...Man...person. Right. The point was, he was going straight here, doing the right thing. Right.

"So the Archives, as I'm sure you may have pieced together are where we store the artifacts and documentation for some of the things we're studying in the Department of Mysteries. You'll find a number of strange things and also documentation detailing any magical abilities they can be said to have. You'll also find a number of dangerous things down here as well. That is why, for your own safety, I recommend researching any artifact or objects before trying to handle them." As he spoke, the older wizard moved over to a blank wall and mounted the sheeted object securely before pulling away the sheet. A branching set of individually framed mirrors seemed to be nothing at all out of the ordinary before Mr. Mitterbill stepped before them and each manifested it's own personal eye. "Please take care of this Looking Glass for us, won't you, Beth?".

Jasper stepped away from the mirror and in due time the eyes shut and vanished.

"If you have plenty of questions, then you're on the right track. Our goal here as Unspeakables is to find answers to some of the most damning and unfathomable questions known to Wizardkind. The Archives is a great place to start for the simple fact that every question that has ever passed through the Department of Mysteries has been saved and recorded here. The bureau stores topics and information on index cards which also tell you where in the room you'll find any related lab results or objects. It works much like a library in that way. Does that make sense, everyone?" Hopefully, they were still with him. He'd said more than he'd meant to. "Just about the only thing you won't find stored away in here are prophecies. They are all, of course, stored in the Hall of Prophecies. That is because only trained orb specialists may handle the prophecies themselves."
