Kate's search for three cats had still resulted in only one cat turning up. She'd found it on the fifth floor corridor swatting at something in the air. It had been a good reading on her part, and she'd learned that she'd receive good news soon. Soon could be in the next five minutes or the next year. She didn't know. She just hoped that if the news was really, really good, she'd only have to wait a little while.

She had been so deep in thought about that, that she almost missed a calico cat lurking around some tapestry. Where had she ended up anyway? Oh, yeah. Barnabus the Barmy. Kate only glanced at the tapestry a half second longer before looking back at the cat. Time to do another reading. Kate reached in her bag and took out her parchment and quill.

Homework Reading #2

Well, in the time it took me to get out my parchment and quill, I almost lost sight of the second cat I found. I even walked a few steps away in search of it before I found out where it was. It was following me and right at my footsteps! Looking through my textbook, I see where that means I'll be receiving money!!! WOOT! I guess now I know what good news the cat in my first reading was referring to!
