Partners. Why did it always have to be partners? And someone she really trusted?!
Wanting to bang her head off the wall the little snake made her way slowly to the front of the classroom. Her eyes slowly scanned the room for a partner... Brooklyn knew about mail. She also knew there was a reason why she preferred owls and stuff over Muggle mail. Even her grandpa didn’t mind getting owls, and he wasn’t a wizard. It made things easier, and that was why she’d just kept her own counsel during the discussion. Mail people were usually either way too cheerful or mean anyway. Queens shouldn’t have to deal with that. Therefore, quiet. Nobody had singled her out for not speaking either. She still felt like the professor could have thought about it, being sort of overly cheery herself. Brooklyn didn’t do happy bouncy, not after that incident last term in Potions. She didn’t remember all of that, but she remembered enough to know that was definitely not her.
She’d stood up as the instruction to move to the front was made, walking up there with as much queenliness as possible. Just because she was short didn’t mean she couldn’t be royal. It didn’t mean she couldn’t be proper. Oh, and there was Hady looking around, kind of looking lost. “We can work together, Hady,” she said, stopping next to her fellow second year snake. She already knew they could work together well anyhow. All that was left was finding out what they needed the partners for in the first place. She hoped she wasn’t going to have to deliver mail. If so, she was going to conscript her cat into doing it for her, since she hadn’t gotten her gyrfalcon yet. Soon.
