ONLY because he needed to pass by his office to get to the Hospital Wing, Airey had quickly ducked inside to snatch Pebbles from her pink pillow and thus disturbing her afternoon nap. He had tucked the pet rock under his left arm while he continued to clutch his finger - still wrapped in the crumbled up piece of parchment given to him by Miss Neverwinter - and was panting as though he had just run a marathon when he finally arrived. Flopping dramatically into one of the vacant chairs, he proceeded to moan, quietly, while he waited for Cecelia to save his humble life.
"I'm glad you're here with me, Pebbles," he said, nuzzling the pet rock against his cheek.
