Okay so he had had some success but not all that much. Benny was certainly in need of more practice. The fifth year opened his mouth to try it again when the conversation the professor had going with other students got louder and more animated catching his attention. One leaving...another losing a lot of points. Gryffindor points. Ones they didn't even have in reserve to lose as it was so early in the term.
Sigh.

Ben took a deep breath to attempt to ground himself, knowing it was no good to do anything but try to ignore the troublesome situation. Not his issue at the moment. Giving himself another minute or two, he focused on his jar again and cast "Diminuendo!" This time the object managed to shrink a little more. Well it was a start.
A start followed by a certain lion prefect getting into the thick of things.
