It was hard for Clara to understand how she was feeling because she was feeling so many things at once. Sadness at what had happened between herself and Phoenix and sadness at having to go home to her foster parents (despite being able to stay with Eden for a week prior to that). Then there was happiness at being able to escape the sight and reminder of Phoenix, though she'd definitely miss it. Relief at having finished her OWLs. Worry at not having done as well as she'd hoped.
There were all of those feelings mixed together with many more.
So, Clara did what she often did when she was upset or anxious: she got out her sketchbook and outlined the scene. Herself, the train, and miles and miles of tracks ahead of her. Time to think. |
