Default [potion 4] post 3, starting the antidote (near the end) - Adi and Norah
Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict

Brooklyn had only giggled more at the look on the boy’s face when she’d hugged him. He wasn’t getting the point. He needed to be happy, and she was trying to make him happy. Hugs made people happy. And compliments. She’d giggled again as he’d corrected her. “Nope. Everybody’s bee-autifullll,” she left as her parting thought. “Thank youuuuu,” was also sang back toward him. She wanted him to know she’d liked the compliment too, even though he was WRONG. Handsome was just a silly word. It didn’t meeean anything. Just a silly word, that she started singing quietly under her breath as she’d returned to her cauldron and hugged Norah. Silly, silly word.

“Nope!,” she sang out, as her partner had hugged her back and talked about never ruining the fun. Ruining fun was BAD, and bad things weren’t allowed. Only fun and happy things, and they needed to spread the happiness around. There were too many people in the classroom who weren’t happy. That was bad too, and she’d started bouncing, swiveling her head around and singing under her breath as the hug stopped to keep track of ALL the people who needed to be happy. They needed their help. She was going to make sure they got help. Somehow. It was her new mission. Missions were fun. She’d seen Norah start bouncing around the table too, and the flailing, but she’d just kept planning how they could make everyone happy, bouncing in place. Hugs were important. And probably the cauldrons too. They had to be here for a re-e-eason. Although they were beautiful too. Yep. Beautiful almost shiny cauldrons. Needed to be shinier, and a spell came to her mind. “Scourgify!,” she sang out, flailing her wand at the cauldrons. One of those was hers. It needed to be SHINY!

Her head had swiveled again as she’d heard her name, and more giggles spilled out. It sounded even MORE beautiful when it was said like that. “Noooraaaah,” she returned, bouncing over to the Hufflepuff and giggling as Norah made her suggestion. “We should! Everyone should go to Neverland, mhm. NeVERLAND!!!,” she sang back, going into a paroxysm of just singing Neverland over and over. There HAD to be more beautiful places outside of this room. But first, this room needed to be beautifuller. It was so dark. Maybe that was why so many people looked sleepy. “Lumos!,” she called out, giggling yet again as a bright light appeared. Pretty.

Ooh, potions. Her attention at least halfway went to Norah again as the older girl suggested they make one so they could escape the room. Her eyes kept going back to the bright light she’d conjured, though, a big grin on her face. “Course not. Why would we drink a potion? Calm sounds like sleepy and if we’re sleepy we won’t wanna leave,” she pointed out with a little giggle. They’d just make the potion and give it to the big man at the front. He looked like he knew what to do with them. Plus, he looked happy so he didn’t need her help. She’d heard him laughing, and that meant happy. Always. Ooh. Norah had her book out and was reading things aloud. Stuff about that calm thingy, and she picked up her notebook and started scribbling, the potion notes well mixed in with random thoughts and misspellings.

SPOILER!!: Calming Draught

Calming Drot

Use/Effect:
To calm and soothe the drinker – why would ANYONE want to be soothed when they could be HAPPY

Ingredients:
1 pint water
6 drops fluxweed oil
Inner membrane and fluid from 3 bloodroot stems
1 Valerian root, minced
1 drakm calendula pollen
3 skullcap leaves
1/2 drakm powdered root of asfodel (scant)
1 Hyacinth flower, whole
1 ounce slime from the belly of a spritely frog
1 sprig of peppermint
4 drop glumbumble fluid (take care not to overuse!) – glumbumble, glumbumble glumbumble

Instructions:

**STAGE 1**
Add 6 drops fluxweed oil to warm water.
Split the bloodroot stems lengthwise with your knives and scrape out all fluid and fybrus material from inside the stems. Crush with mortar and pesle into a fine paste and add to the cauldron.
Stir slowly until a light steam rises from the cauldron, alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirring.

**STAGE 2**
Mince the Valerian root and add it to the potion.
Add calendula pollen, stirring three times clockwise.
Shred the skullcap lengthwise, and slowly add it to the potion
Bring the temperature back up until the steam is rising again, stirring clockwise slowly. It should be a light blue-green at this stage. – oo pretty
Professor's note: Remember your intent-- concentrate on being calm and infusing your work with a calm, deliberate result.
Add asphodel -- you should see a bright blue flash of light in your cauldron
Add the Hyacinth flower; the potion should stop glowing
Allow the potion to steep while you collect the frog slime. For best results, do not harvest the frog slime until this time!
Add the slime and a sprig of peppermint and bring to boiling, stirring in alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirs once again.
When the potion thikens and turns deep indigo, add the glumbumble fluid.
Continue stirring in a clockwise motion until the solid ingredients have all disintegrated and the potion is a thick, surupy indigo fluid that smells of lavender, warm sugar and sweet mint. There should be a light purple-pink sheen in the steam that rises from the potion.
Take a sample of your potion and bottle it into a phial.

By the time she’d finished scribbling, she’d begun singing “Glumbumble” over and over again, getting progressively louder and completely not paying attention as Norah had started her potion. Oops. Giggle. She bounced back to her cauldron, sticking her head inside and inspecting it for dust or anything that might’ve snuck in to ruin things after she’d cleaned it earlier. Poking at it, she decided it was clean, so she flailed her wand back inside. “Aguamenti!,” she sang out, giggling as water started pouring into the cauldron. She had to stop herself from switching over to singing that word over and over again. She didn’t want to get TOO far behind her partner. That would be bad. No getting behind. No badness ALLOWED.

She’d giggled again as she dripped from the bottle labeled fluxweed oil into the water in her cauldron, sticking a finger in the water first to see if it was warm. Yep. Warm water. “One, two, three, fourfivesix,” she counted out, watching six little drops of oil mix with the water. It made pretty swirls. Pretty. Another giggle slipped out as she tore her attention away to bounce over to look for a bloodroot stem. That was next, according to watching Norah and looking at her scribbles. Oooey, gooey bloodroot paste. She had to hold back the giggles that threatened to spill out as she’d found the root and carefully sliced her knife along the length of the stem to split it open. Cutting herself would be bad too. A giggle escaped as she saw the reddish ooze starting to slip out of the cut, though. It looked like blood. She used the tip of her knife to scrape everything inside the stem into the smushy bowl, though, then used the smushy stick to smush it all into a paste. Like her notes said, and another giggle sounded. She could do this. All that was left for the first part was stirring, so she put a spoon into the cauldron, cleaning it first with another giggle, then started stirring. Back to her sing-song repetition of “glumbumble”.
