Truth be told, the thirteen year old hadn't heard with her partner had announced but she was just glad the Gryffindor seemed motivated. Lazily she raised her hand and gave the girl a weak thumbs up. SHE had work to do now too.
Focusing on her cauldron, the second year picked up her wand and slowly pointed it inside. "Scourgify." Then she consulted her notes. She'd need a pint of water and it had to be warmed before she could do anything else so she'd start there. "Aguamenti." Holding the wand steady with one hand, Maddie tapped her cheek lightly with the other. Trying to snap herself from her sleepy stupor, y'see? She really didn't want to fail. The thought made her want to wibble again but no, no wibbling. She--OH. That was about a pint. "Finite."
After lighting a fire underneath the cauldron and letting the water warm, Maddie searched for the fluxweed oil and her dropper. Every movement was slow and it was incredibly annoying to the brunette but she was motivated now, knowing both the class and her time in this state would soon be over.
"Scourgify." She cleaned the dropper once it'd been found and then took a breather. Merlin, this was tiring. Did the elderly feel this way ALL the time? It made the thought of aging really frightening, honestly. Maddie shook those thoughts from her tired brain and sucked up some of the fluxweed oil. Then she added six drop of it to the warm water.
After cleaning the dropper again and setting it aside, she glanced at her notes again. Blurry vision wasn't fun so more rubbing of the eyes happened and when she wasn't seeing spots anymore, she noted she'd need her mortar and pestle. Each were cleaned, albeit a bit slowly, and then she needed...bloodroot stems. She seemed to be out of THOSE. Looking at the cupboard across the room, Maddie let out a heavy sigh. This..was going to be exhausting.
Well at least the potion was giving her lots of energy and stuff. She made a mad dash to get ALL of her ingredients. Which wasn't too many, just fairy wings, dragonfly thoraxes, flying seahorses, doxy eggs and her choice of ingredient. He he she kind of liked her power to choose her potion ingredient.
Skipping as she headed back to her seat with the ingredients in hand. Now let's see, reading the instructions she seen that she needed to add the fairy wings and heat up the potion until it turned turquoise in color.
She waited until the potion changed to a turquoise color before adding three of the doxy eggs. At that point she was suppose to wait until it turned pink. Next she added twenty of the toasted dragonfly thoraxes.
1...2...3...4...5...
...15...16...17...18...19...20
On the twentieth the potion turned red. Then she heated it until it turn blue.
Anddddd there it was it was Blue. After the potion turned blue she went ahead and added the other twenty dragonfly thoraxes to her potion.
1...2...3...4...5...
...15...16...17
On the seventeenth dragonfly thoraxes the potion went from blue to silver. A minor freak out when that happen. MAN. She was going to have to start alllll over again. But she seen a note about the dragonfly thoraxes it might NOT take all twenty. Okay good the potion was silver just like she wanted it. Man she was still happy too happy for as stressed out that she felt deep down inside. She was stressing potions. Happy yay. Potions final. Ahhhhh!!!! The happiness potion must be starting to wear off now.
