"Whatcha doin'?" He tried not to be a shadow, standing beside the younger boy instead, light eyes running over the artwork with interest.
Thornton put down his pencil and looked up to see who was beside him.
"Oh, hi Paris." The boy smiled, eyes flicking to the ukulele with interest. But he quickly turned his eyes back to the work spread out in front of him at the question.
"I'm, uh," Thornton thought a moment.
"I'm turning a star chart into a painting." He pointed to the rough sketch that was off to the side that he had made in the planetarium, tracing over the lines of the constellation with his finger.
"They're called the southern birds and I thought it'd be cool to paint the actual birds over the stars."
He shrugged.
"It's for my little sister."
