SPOILER!!: Kyle!

Ms. Tanner earned a sincere smile from her department head and inched closer to his motorbike. “She’s nice, isn’t it? Her name’s Roxy.” And no one dare touch her. “Ah well, my office is quite bare, but I do like the feel.” That way it’s easier to spot his things and such. Paxton nodded and went ahead to get a coffee cup for Kyleigh and poured some coffee in it. “Here you go, Ms. Tanner.” The department head carefully slid the cup and saucer towards her spot on the table and got himself a chair. “Ambleside? Do you live there too?” he asked as he sat down and took a sip of his coffee, and gestured her to do the same. “I have a cousin that lives near the Lake District. She’s from Grasmere.” He went there once…or maybe twice? He was still in Hogwarts when he last visited, which by the way, was years ago. “I shall take note of that, Ms. Tanner. Thank you for the offer.” Paxton raised his cup once more and finished his java.

“Right then. I’m glad you dropped by because I have some matters to discuss with you.” Paxton carefully placed his cup down, and summoned a folio. He quickly scanned it and placed it on the table. “I went to Russia a few years back…and I discovered a black market for brooms,” Paxton shifted in his seat and looked directly at Ms. Tanner. “Would you happen to have information regarding illegal brooms being sold here in England? Particularly from the city of Moscow?” Paxton might need to smuggle a prototype so his team could break it down into pieces, and see for himself why it is illegal, and why it is being sold underground. Exciting stuff, right?

Kyle glanced at the bike and then back to Paxton one more time as she heard the bike’s name. She had a name? Well, that made sense as she had always been attached to her brooms and other bikes. “She is” she smiled and graciously accepted the cup of coffee “thank you Mr. Paxton” she muttered before taking a sip of the coffee. “I have a room at their house for whenever I want to stay but I have an apartment in London actually” she grinned at the thought of her little sanctuary.

When Paxton indicated for her to take a seat she did, it was kind of rude not to right? And well, weird it was weird it wouldn’t have been rude it would have just made her look like an anxious nutter. Which she wasn’t. “Grasemere is a beautiful area, it all is really” she smiled and meant it really, all of the Lake District was beautiful. Taking a few more sips of her coffee she carefully set the empty cup down as Paxton moved on to the business at hand.

He was talking about Russian counterfeit brooms, brilliant. Just perfect. Her family already had made a stink about her working in the Transportation department and this sounded like it would have to deal with many Wizarding laws and well, broken laws. “I’ve not heard that much just some chatter about people being interested in the brooms,” she didn’t have anything solid. “If you need someone to purchase one of these brooms I can buy one and bring it in to investigate what makes it a counterfeit broom” she offered as really she wanted to see what was up with these brooms. “I, do have friends in the MLE that I can talk to into investigating the brooms with me? As far as who to go to to buy the brooms that is” she offered a sort of excitement lighting her face. She just wanted to get her hands on one of those brooms and see what was up with them. Who knew maybe they were used as a means of conversation between countries? A hidden compartment could easily be stashed in the handle or it could have been a collapsible broom…gosh she hoped it wasn’t collapsible.

“That is very convenient, I believe?” Paxton did not miss the tiny smile on her face when she mentioned about her London flat. Having a place nearby can never go wrong. The fact that you don’t have to wake so early in the morning just to be in the work place on time is always a brilliant idea. It also pays to be a wizard or witch because they can apparate to places. They can always be on time even if they just woke up 10 minutes before they are considered late.

Well, that could be very different for witches though. The amount of time they need just to get dressed…and whatever else they need to do to go to work. Not that he’s complaining, though. Paxton appreciates that his female employees do look good and presentable all the damn time. “It has been years since the last time I was there. I was still wee.” Paxton shared as he looked at the coffee pot on the table. “I would love to visit the Lake District some time soon…more coffee?” The 37 year old asked as he gestured towards his coffee vessel. Anyone in his department is more than welcome to refill their cups should they wish to do so. No biggie at all.

Now onto more pressing issues. “Ah…I see,” Paxton stroked his chin and contemplated on the parchment on the table. “I met this young lad earlier, his name is Dmitry Konstantinov. He works for the International Cooperation, and he used to work for the Russian Wizarding Government.” Paxton crossed his legs and sighed. “The Russian MLE caught some of the illegal vendors before I discovered the market. I’m quite sure that they were not able to capture all. The one I saw must have a deeper network underground…” In all honesty though, this is rather exciting!

Paxton smiled at Tanner’s enthusiasm, however, they will be needing more information first before they dive in to action. He wants his employees to return safely, did they know? “Partnerning up with the MLE is a good idea, but I would also like to involve Mr. Konstantinov. He can speak Russian, and he can work out your International Apparition passes,” Paxton cleared his throat and procured another parchment. “Enzo Abernathy and Vincent Wither should also join.” He will be needing all the back-up just in case things go wrong. “For now though, I will still be needing more information from my sources, and as soon as I’ve got all the intel we need, I will call for a meeting to disseminate the tasks.” Oh wait…he’s forgetting something. “Also, we will need to have those pastries and baked goods from Ambleside.” Paxton smiled at Kyleigh and waited for her response.

SPOILER!!: Vincent!

That was something he would gladly take, especially if he had honey… Good for the voice, you know? “Can’t complain, sir. Yourself?” He paused slightly as he stepped in and sat down. Huh, the motorcycle was definitely different from the previous heads he was sure. He’d never step close one, but it was definitely a nice touch to the room and just a beautiful bike.

He looked at him and paused, “But I know you said you wanted to talk to me about all my past issues for why I’ve not been here.” Vincent rubbed the back of his head, “And I’ll be honest, a lot of it has to do with my band… Hard to bounce between the two considering no one else in the band is a wizard.” Okay, so he got the stupid reason was out but the more serious one. Or at least to him anyways, “But the other reason… It’s kind of a long story. My fiancé… Ex fiancé, she accidentally burnt our house down after she told me she was leaving me for someone else…” That was clearly the short version.

“Oh, not at all.” Well, he’s busy, but he can’t admonish his employee for seeing him. He posted the memo about this informal, get-to-know each other meeting anyway. Paxton gestured towards the coffee and tea pots, and gave Vincent the go signal to help himself. He just had…three? Or was it four cups of coffee already, so he’d pass for now. The cookies look delish though…

Paxton grinned at the young man and sat comfortably on his chair. “I’m doing fine, Mr. Wither. Thank you for asking,” the department head paused as he eyed his troubled employee. “I sincerely hope that you are doing okay right now.” He can’t afford to have a worried employee, because they have a lot of work to finish. But as soon as Vincent started to talk, Paxton sunk deeper in his chair and stroked his chin.

Merlin’s beard. This kid has a lot of things going on.

“Is music your first love?” Paxton asked as he continued to stroke his chin thoughtfully. Riding his motorbike is his first love, and second is racing brooms. However, Vincent’s life varies greatly from him. See? He didn’t even had the chance to be a married man. Whereas himself, he did marry, but it failed. “And I suppose that having two jobs is your idea to replace the house your ex-fiancé burned?” Paxton asked again as he sat up straighter on his chair this time and crossed his arms. He wasn’t annoyed at the young man, only curious as to how he’s currently handling things.
