34. Point Me
Colin Creevey

Where had Harry gotten to? Colin neeeeeeded to see what Harry was up to and was terribly put out by being unable to find him. The young Gryffindor had tried searching the castle on his own, but was just not having any luck.

Grumpily, he pulled out his wand. That point me spell was for tracking, right? Colin wracked his brain, trying to remember what Hermione had said. Or was it just to point North? Colin, clearly misremembering, muttered the incantation while visualizing Harry and watched as his wand spun in his hand. It settled – pointing North as it was supposed to do – and Colin bounded up the stairs in the direction, the wand spinning whenever he changed his orientation to keep pointing north.

But Colin thought it meant that Harry was on the move.

Eyes glued to the wand, Colin hurried, his camera bouncing against his chest as he slipped into the common room, confident he would find Harry within.

And he followed his wand right out of the open window of Gryffindor tower.
