In reality it probably looked like he had lost himself, as if he was staring through things rather than at them. But that was only because his mind was elsewhere, still churning away, but definitely not present.
His eyes were glazed over, but still, he saw nothing in the mirror aside from his own reflection - and even that could not compete for his attention - or non-attention.
Ian looked around and saw Zeke. He WAS not going to follow the instructions of the Anti-Cassie, but he could help out a buddy. He walked over to Zeke.
Hey man. How's it going? Ian glared at the the shell of his professor and then back at Zeke's mirror. It just looked like a mirror. What were they going to get from these things.
Nothing! was Ian's thought. Ian didn't think he could calm himself, but he could probably help Zeke calm down and breathe.
