This was one of the Puffers who'd made a big stink at the start of term feast but that was all behind her after hearing him talk so fondly about meat.
With one of those extra long forks hanging by the side of the dragon, she pried open the lower back to reveal the grilling area. "While we grill we gotta watch out for the head. Heard it breathes fire." Just had to put that out there because there would be no Hufflepuffs roasting on her watch. That was a Gryffindor's move thank you very much.
"We'll just get this on the grill." She said, slapping on the salmon steak. "And you take this." She said, handing him the over-sized fork thingy.
Know something? This one was adorable, she was and had Lex grinning at her enthusiasm. "We'll get you some juice ribs in no time." She said, slapping said ribs onto the grill at a little distance from Ian's salmon steak. "I dunno much about how high this one will get but I know this here," she said pointing vaguely to the dragon's mouth, "will be breathing fire in a sense. You could roast smaller things like the kabobs Professor Botros is on about."
Lex caught the look the Puffer gave her then turned her gaze as yet another Professor showed up. Oh, the Evil Queen from Divi. Guess it hadn't worn off yet.
"Don't pay her any attention, none or she'll think you're playing along with her, got it? We're roasting, and she's drinking things she doesn't know. Let's leave it at that." She said with a solemn nod, taking control for one of the only times as Head Girl. Kid could ignore her and indulge the Professor anyway but then Lex would pretend not to know her either. She was in charge of the roasting area, not mental Professors. They were not her problem until they tried stealing the meat like the boy wonder over there.
Just saying.
Norah caught Lex's smile and grinned back even wider. Her dimples were on the verge of cramping up, but she ignored them. Could dimples even cramp? The second year pondered that for a moment before she caught a whiff of grilling meat that brought her back to the present.
Thanks! They smell amazing! she exclaimed to the older girl, leaning closer to get a good look at the cooking meat. She jumped back quickly, forgetting how hot the grill could get, and retreated a few feet so she could bounce excitedly without endangering herself. With every bounce, her skirt flew up a little and she stopped to glare down at it. Stupid skirt. This was why she never wore skirts... clearly this hadn't been her best idea. Oops.
Norah nodded at Lex's suggestion and took a step closer to her, away from crazy Professor Morgan. The head girl must be right, seventh years knew EVERYTHING. Especially the head girl, probably. She hopes she could know everything just like Lex and Jasmine when she grew up, uh huh. Maybe she'd even grow tall like them. That'd be totally wicked. So, the Hufflepuff stared intently at her cooking ribs, resisting the urge to let her eyes wander towards the drinks area.
"I sure hope so!" she replied to Ian, restarting her bouncing. Wheeeeee! This was such fun! Maybe one day she could learn to use a grill and cook for her little brothers. THEN she could be cool just like Lex and Ian.
