Maybe he was just frustrated because whatever he did would end up hurting someone and he felt like all the blame of that was being pushed, in his eyes unfairly onto him.
"Kinda, Yeah.. He didn't even like you like that." He'd been wanting to say that since he found out but hadn't and it just kinda slipped out now. "I'm gonna do something that's kind of a strange concept to you and just tell you how i'm feeling. Okay?" Connor took a deep breath. "I like you, i Do Justine.. You're different and witty and i have a lot of fun with you. But I also have really strong feelings for someone else and i get that it makes things weird but I refuse to feel sorry about how i feel. I can't just sacrifice what i want all the time for other people and assume that makes me good." So...there was that. It was what he meant and how he felt..so question was, would she get mad?

He turned towards the door cackling.
"STUDENTS KISSING IN THE OBSERVATORY, STUDENTS KISSING IN THE OBSERVATORY"
He was annoyed, it couldn't have been any plainer, from the way he spoke to how he held himself, it was all fairly obvious. Not that it was a new thing, it seemed like they were always getting under each other's skin ever since the beginning. She supposed it was all the tension between them that made the two so easily agitated. Except that Justine wasn't this time, she was too busy thinking about what he had actually said. "Safer?" She frowned at the word, the taste of it bitter in her mouth. Justine Janvier didn't play safe, she did as she pleased to hell with anything else!
"I know he didn't," It was the whole reason their relationship had been so easy, because neither of them had cared too much. The attraction had been there and the friendship, but neither had felt anything more.
The boy didn't give her a chance to say yes or no, but pressed on; saying what she suspected had always been on his mind, a speech she was ill prepared for.
I like you, I do, Justine. the words made the strange feeling in her chest grow, taking over. Sacrificing what he wanted? Did he mean her? She was about to ask when-

Justine turned to see the translucent figure of-
PEEEVES. PEEVES THE BLOODY POLTERGEIST. For heaven's sake. What was
he doing there?
Justine dryly glared at the pesty Hogwarts ghost. "Aren't there better things you could be doing?" She cooly asked, raising an immaculate eyebrow. A second later he was shouting bloody murder, calling out for attention and though Justine very much doubted they would be in any real trouble, she knew they wouldn't be able to stay. She quickly grabbed her things, making sure to get everything and walked out of the Observatory, unsure whether she wanted Connor to follow her or not.
