He shrugged, homework to do... right.. He was pretty good at keeping up with it. "Not really, i mean just something to write but i can do that later." He didn't like to let his homework pile up it was far too much work at that point.
Connor was about to go because he could feel the tension here, then she said that and he wasn't sure how to take it. Yes, it was something he wanted to happen but because he was selfish. He wasn't over someone else so how was it okay for him to feel like this? It would be a lie to say he wasn't feeling relieved but also feeling very...selfish. A new feeling he didn't care for, well maybe not new but newly discovered. "Well, that's good.." He wasn't sure if he should smile or what?
"Oh, right, of course,"
How lame, you're such a nerd, Jones-y.
The flirtatious words were begging to be said, Justine bit her lip, holding back, again, keeping her distance (emotionally and physically) from the clever, reckless Gryffindor. Seriously, what was it about him? What did he have that had so arrested her attention and her unwilling affection? Perhaps it was the way he had pushed her when they'd first met, forcing Justine to spill the truth of who she was, or maybe it was his cool acceptance... Or the way he chased her.. Or how it had felt when he had kissed her.. Mentally, Justine shook herself.
That thinking had to go.
What was that weird feeling in her belly? That uncomfortable heavy feeling? It was a little like the butterflies she would feel before a performance but- Anxious, she was anxious. Bloody hell, since when did Justine Janvier get anxious? She wasn't some stupid moony-eyed first year. She was better than that, above it... Justine wasn't aware she was slightly holding her breath until Connor spoke and she released it in a quiet breath. "Why?" Justine asked, half turning in her seat. "
Why is it good?"
And why was she even asking? Why was she even telling him? There was something warm blooming in her chest, it felt strange, unfamiliar, but it made her want to smile at Jones-y and close the distance between them.
