Elliot took Hudson's little hand in hers and walked him towards the tables with the food. Barefoot, the grass felt aaalllll nice on her feet. She also couldn't BELIEVE she was barefoot. Mostly because,...well she was galavanting around in PUBLIC right now. Barefoot. Her feet were pretty, though, and her toenails were painted all nicely.

"Okay--do we want peanut butter, Huds?" she asked, and Hudson was nodding a bit, sticking his thumb in his mouth and clinging to her leg with the arrival of all of these...people. She got a plate with his sandwich, and then one with a cucumber sandwich for herself, and grabbed some utensils and led her toddler back to their table, plunking him down next to her before she began to cut his sandwich into fourths.

AND THEN SHE HEARD THAT VOICE.

Elliot FREAKED. She shot up and LUNGED at Min. "MINERVA!" she cried, so uncharacteristically giggly and unlike herself. But her eyes were sparkling and she was SMIIIIIIIILING so broadly--Hudson was staring at her with his wide, blue eyes as well. "Come sit with us--oh PLEASE do--" she said and she nodded her head behind her at Hudson, who was being SUUUCH a gentleman and waiting for Elliot to sit to eat.
