Maddie made LOTS of good points so Professor Walton would definitely get used to it. Also, the fact that he was going to be speaking to the Head Girl after class made the second year smirk. It seemed to the thirteen year old that the older Gryffindor was on something of a power trip. The badge went RIGHT to her head. Well THAT or maybe she was losing her mind. Acting like she was a few billywig stings short of a fizzing whizzbee, she was. Maddie might have even wanted to get to the bottom of it if the Head Girl hadn't made Kyroh uncomfortable before. NOW she had no interest in helping, she'd just enjoy the show.
As far as plants with uncommon traits, Maddie's mind immediately went to those under the flesh-eating category. She liked those best, y'see. "The Chokeberry Bush is unusual in that after luring small animals in with its scent, the bush CHOKES its prey with its branches. And then they get dragged into its mouth."
