As the next steps appeared on the board, Thornton dutifully removed his gloves and took notes, making sure that each step was carefully recorded. Then, taking note of what was needed, he hopped off his chair and headed over to the basin. Carefully measuring out 1 litre of water, he put it to the side while he washed the metal stick he would need to stir.

Returning to his work station, he slipped his gloves back on and set himself to the task.

Carefully adding the water to his cauldron, lest he spill any of it, Thornton leaned over and watched the liquid cover the feather and hair. Once the last drop was in, Thornton turned to his assembled ingredients. Three leech heads, already prepared. Check.

He dropped them in one at a time, quite carefully, so as not to splash himself in the face. He then picked up his clean metal stick and twirled it around the cauldron, counting under his breath each time it made one clockwise trip around. Smiling, Thornton pulled out the stick and set it aside to be cleaned after.

Scooping the ginger root up carefully he placed the required half in the potion. Now, there was a two minute wait. Thornton debated whether to add observational notes or to clean the stick. Unsure if it would be needed promptly, Thornton again hopped off his chair, leaving his gloves ON this time, since the stick was covered in potion, and scurried to the basin. Washing rapidly, he hurried back, sliding a bit on the floor, but settling in to his seat just as his two minute wait time was expiring.
