Bluejay | Potatopop! | SRS - Stupid Ravenclaw Syndrome HER FIRST MAGIC CASTING.
MERLIN’S EARLOBE.
Tilly was bouncing with excitement. Like actually, enough to knock her knee off the desk she was sitting on. In all fairness, it was exciting stuff. Plus astrology. That was cool stuff. So the new bruise to come wouldn’t put a damper on her mood.
Her wand surfaced and she pulled the name tag forward. Her voice dropped to a low whisper as she said “Tilly C. Richards” and gave the nametag a poke, sending it scooching off the edge of the table. NOT TO WORRY NOT TO WORRY. It was probably charmed anyway so it’s not like her little bit of magic could go too wrong.
Tilly stood up slightly in her chair, looking over at what other students were doing for tips. Her voice was only a little bit louder when she gave the nametag a tap rather than a poke, seeing as that’s what everyone around her was doing. Sure enough, gold lettering etched it’s way across the nametag looking very pretty. Okay it was ‘Tillie’ instead of ‘Tilly’ but close enough. AND IT INCLUCED A C. Which is quite vital to the young girl’s identity.
MAGIC. SHE’D DONE THAT!!!
Definitely worthy of a diary entry and a letter home.
Now where to put it?? The professional, good little witch thing to do would be to stamp it just above the Ravenclaw crest on her robes but she had a deep, burning desire to stick it onto her forehead. Tilly came to a compromise and smoothed the nametag across her chin, looking like she was using it as a plaster because she’d knocked her chin off the table or something.
Once that was all done and dusted, she did shrink a little down her chair. She wanted very much to answer but she was surrounded by BIG KIDS. They were EVERYWHERE. A little segregation would’ve been nice. What if they laughed???? THEY WERE HORRIBLE. Too tall and older than her and yuck. But only because it was astronomy she raised her hand.
The Ravenclaw spoke much too fast but an answer was an answer. “Astronomy is learning about stars and galaxies and stuff. Because astronomy is really really really cool and it’s important to know as much about the universe and our home as we can.”
