Now that his back wasn't all old man like.
"You got it, Professor Airey," Toby grinned back at the Astronomy professor, giving a little salute. He was ABSOLUTELY up for that. It was, after all, as much of a tradition for Toby as the Start-of-Term Feast and other things.

Oh. OH. And there were people here too. Toby blinked, not having noticed them sit near him earlier, and smiled around at them all. And the other kids he knew in class; waves all 'round, yep.

But then Airey was speaking, and the name tags appeared on the desks, and it was obviously time to get started. Toby picked up his own nametag, tapped it and said "Toby" very clearly, checked to make sure it was written correctly, then stuck it on his robes.

The question, though requiring slightly more thinking, was also a pretty simple ask. Toby thought on it for a good few moments before he raised his hand.

"I guess it's important to me 'cause I just find it interesting. But also, it's like this link between the muggle and magical worlds, right? 'Cause wizards have studied the stars and the planets for years, and in history the night skies have sort of... been associated with magic and witchcraft. And we can use magic to study the skies, but muggles also study Astronomy. I think it's important to me 'cause there's that... link." Yeah. That.

And still no bouncing.
