There was a decent amount of talking and moving about going on in the classroom, but Toby found no difficulties with keeping his attention firmly on the crystal ball. The mist was still swirling around in time, and it was either slowing down a whole bunch or Toby was getting better at noticing certain shapes.

Nothing of any real meaning though, not yet. But it probably wasn't the kind of thing where you just managed it straight away. All magic took practice before you really started to get it, after all.

Vaguely, Toby wondered just how clear these images were supposed to be, like if the really talented seers saw them in super high definition like on one of those big TVs. In fact, there were a bunch of other questions floating around Toby's otherwise clear mind, and he quickly pushed them back so he could focus only one what he was seeing.
