Mod Babysitter | be curious, not judgmental "Imprecatio Revelio."
Botros enjoyed teaching more than researching? Sophie shot a big grin at the man, then at Tobes - the Hufflepuff had picked a good favorite professor, for sure. Soph wasn't sure there was a professor at Hogwarts who seemed more passionate about teaching and being there for his students than Botros.
What a sweet, wise old man.
Then, much to Sophie's horror, he was answering yes to the person behind it all very likely being inside the castle. Great - her thoughts immediately went to Zander's nutty Romanos theory. Really, who was capable of bringing such misfortune upon the castle besides the adults? There were, what, fifteen of them? That narrowed it down considerably. Unleeeeess there was a non-professory adult who had snuck in somehow? But how was that even possible? ...Unless they had help from someone already inside the castle? That still meant one of their own was guilty of treason and Soph didn't like balancing those kind of thoughts.
It could also have been Cutty, she thought. He had the motives and would find the means, she was sure of that.
"Imprecatio Revelio," she cast again upon realizing she'd gotten lost in her thoughts, her wand still held high in the air. Her arm was getting a little heavy and sore now, but she put on a brave face - she had a very serious job to do. No letting anyone down. Especially not Botros.
Ethan brought up a very, very good point, and Soph peered with unbridled curiosity between the Slytherin and the Runes professor. Carving those runes over time to go undetected made a LOT of sense to her. That would be a mega sneaky way to go about it. Ethan... was something else, wasn't he? He had a very impressive brain. An out-of-the-box thinker. Thought like a bad guy would think. He had all the makings of a good Auror. It'd be a shame if he chose a career path that didn't harness such observational and critical thinking skills.
Sophie continued to keep all her thought processes to herself, though, and stuck with her assigned task, still casting, "Imprecatio Revelio," as they went along, feeling very important and all and sort of hoping something would come up for the excitement factor.
