| Dalliesa | Ab-Bot | Hogwarts Trojan War | Botros nodded at Tobias when he repeated the spell. "That's right." Now he could pay attention to Sophie in case she didn't get it. With the device held at waist-high, the professor started walking expecting them to follow suit.
Questions were welcome, Botros was more than happy to turn this into a study session, or an extra AR class activity. No points, no gain, just education... and the possibility of saving the world as a bonus. "Great question! This device detects runic energy and tries to process them. Ideally, it doesn't tell if the runes are harmful or not, but it tells me there's a concealing enchantment somewhere that's obscuring the traces of the runes. And if there's something to concealed, then there's definitely something fishy about those runes." He grinned back at the students, see if they fell asleep from his boring explanation or not yet.
But no, MORE questions from his enthusiastic party. "A sound like a siren would be heard if it detects any concealed runic curses." He addressed Tempus, keeping his pace slow. "We'll stop when we hear that sound and if your revealing spells don't work, I'll do a couple of old tricks of my own." How exciting, huh? Ab was almost too excited for this. "It is said that on every block of the castle a rune is carved and invoked. The web of those runes makes up one massive protective ward. Now, the history behind this story is sketchy, there's bits and pieces missing and the resources are not completely reliable which made the historians classify it as a legend rather than a fact." They took a turn, the device still not making any sounds. "So except for my office, Mr. Tempus, I'd say there's no runic wards protecting this school according to professionals." In Botros' opinion, this was something to look into thoroughly.
Aaaand still no signal on the device. |
