Now... spell casting was becoming difficult, seeing as the kid wasn't exactly the type to look up hexes in his free time. They hadn't really learned that many offensive spells in DADA class, especially since Alexa wasn't a Cold One.... what was he supposed to cast now?

Maybe one of the jinxes he'd looked up for fun would work? Like... "Ebublio!"

Just in case she dodged it or something, Dima cast it THREE more times. Effective, yo.

You know what was kinda funny? The last time she dueled Mo...at some point he had jumped out of the way too because of her succession of hexes sent his way. It was interesting to see the dueling styles of others. Lex couldn't get much out with Dima. Everything she liked was likely to kill the boy that could hardly conjure a shield in time to avoid ropes. Sigh, explosions simply wouldn't be in the cards for her this time around.

His neat little trick for self preservation had her momentarily distracted--amused even--until he got right into casting. The first, she'd easily blocked, nearly non-verbally but she caught herself at the last minute because forfeit would not be how this ended.

The second came so soon after the first that she'd nearly never blocked it, leaving her to fumble through her defense of the third. By the last cast there was no hope of getting away completely from the last and the fourth blast of purple light saw her locked inside a bubble.....

....

Well wasn't this brilliant? She'd given it a quick jab with her wand to be sure and no, it wasn't budging. Tough nut this was. Alexa stepped as far back in the wide bubble as possible. "Bombarda!" The blast shot right through the lining of the bubble and toward Dima (but the kid would/could/SHOULD FOR MELIN'S SAKE run, naturally, leaving a gaping hole before the whole thing vanished and Lex was once again free to cast on the hopefully retreating Ravenclaw. "Tarantallegra!"
